Back from the Shore

There is never enough time to be at the beach… and never enough time to rest before the real world calls us back. We are exhausted after hours of beach fetch and an a 3+ mile hike. Not to mention a couple of very nice bottles of reds and some fine dining. We’ll have to get into the details later but as Lach mentioned, a portion of the photos are uploaded for your viewing pleasure.

Buddy Boy

Meet Buddy. This handsome little man is my mom’s new best friend and one of the many highlights of my trip.

I’m still wiped out from all the travel and work is seriously kicking my arse… but how can you look at that face and not smile? He came from Tuscarawas County, Ohio- the county where Lach’s dad grew up. Now I know he’s going to be a troublemaker! ;)

Dividing our Adversity

The past few days have been an emotional rollercoaster with taking care of Gypsy and praying that Cleo can find her way home. But through all of this, there have been many instances that have touched me quite profoundly. As Lachlan mentioned we have been engulfed with kindness from our closest friends to complete strangers. All the people in our neighborhood who have stopped to wish us well… I’m sure they have no idea how touched we have felt by their kind words. They have no idea that each time, I’ve turned my back to let the tears flow… not only for our lost child, but also for their gifts of gentle compassion.
